Citrix release XenApp6 and XenDesktop4 FP1

At AppSense, we share a user-centric view of desktop virtualization with Citrix, and we believe XenApp 6 represents a significant move forward in terms of improving the working experience for users.  From HDX 3D to VOIP enhancements it seems that Citrix continue to move ahead of the curve in terms of ensuring not just the same working experience as a traditional PC, but a much improved one.

I’ve blogged about this before and believe that in order for desktop virtualization to really take off, we need to provide a super user experience, not just ‘the same’ user experience.  We have many customers using AppSense user virtualization technology with Citrix XenDesktop and XenApp, and a big reason why they choose this combination is the focus on the user.  This is not just about cost reduction, it’s about using technology to create effective, agile, satisfied (and therefore highly productive) employees.

With FlexCast, Citrix serves the needs of a highly diverse user base.  With user virtualization added to the mix, every user in this diverse user base receives a fully personalized environment – even in the most complex desktop estates with many technologies, OS versions and bit versions.  So we congratulate Citrix on their latest release and will continue to work closely with them to provide the best user experience for our joint customers around the world.
