AppSense Names Harry Labana as Vice President and CTO

This morning, we excitedly shared the news that Harry Labana will join AppSense next week as vice president and chief technology officer. For most in the desktop virtualization industry, Harry requires no introduction. Both in his most recent role as the desktop CTO at Citrix, as well as his previous tenure as an IT executive at Goldman Sachs, Harry has consistently demonstrated a firm grounding in the practical desktop management challenges of today, as well as a keen ability to both see and articulate the future of desktop computing.

You can learn a bit more about Harry’s decision to join AppSense by reading his blog post “A great ride so far and the journey continues” over on the Citrix blog. While you are there, I also encourage you to check out Harry’s three-part blog series “Desktop virtualization as a strategic discussion” for some insightful perspective on the current state of our industry.

In a year that has already been marked by landmark announcements and key talent acquisitions, the addition of Harry to the AppSense team holds particular significance. While AppSense is by all measures already a very successful company, we see an opportunity for something much bigger and much more strategic. Harry will take our technology vision to the next level of depth and maturity, and help set us firmly on a path to realizing it.

And the best part is that he won’t need to do it alone. Harry takes the reigns of the powerhouse office of the CTO that already includes virtualization industry thought leaders such as Simon Rust, Jon Wallace, and Dr. Benny Tritsch. With that crew setting the direction and the best software development team in the business firing on all cylinders under the direction of Kieron Shiel, there is no way we can lose!

On behalf of the entire AppSense team, welcome aboard Harry!
