Presales Consultant, Australia & New Zealand

Shane has always been into electronics, and that developed into a love for computers. He joined the Royal Australian Air Force when he was just 16, learned to shoot a gun and fix radios and radars. He built his first computer in 1977 – it had a whole 256 BYTES of memory and you entered data by setting binary switches to 1 or 0.

He joined the IT industry in 1986 and has lived the dream ever since. He spent 8 year at Prime Computer talking to Super Mini computers, had a sabbatical for a year in the country, and then joined the man who brought Citrix to Australia in 1995. He knew when he saw the first Citrix demo – this technology was cool – and not only that it solved real business issues.

For the next 9 years he championed the Citrix product and waved the flag for a number of organisations. In 2003 he agreed to join AppSense and started in January 2004. Shane says it is without a doubt the best job he’s ever had.

Apart from AppSense Shane is passionate about the Richmond Football Club, the greatest Aussies Rules team in the world, Alfa Romeo cars – you’re not a real rev head till you’ve owned an Alfa, Martial Arts – it’s great to meet new people and beat them up, and Pubs – visit 100 new pubs every year – it’s a lifestyle choice.
